Why not join the 1st annual Vientiane International Speech Contest !!!
1. Purposes:
To foster self-confidence and promote interest in public speaking, and to provide opportunities for Lao people to improve their speaking ability. Best speakers will be recognized as encouragement to all.
2. Eligibility:
- All Lao citizen aged above 18 (For English speech contest ONLY)
- All foreigners aged above 18 and reside in Laos for more than a year (Lao speech contest ONLY)

6. Time allocation for each speech:
7.1 Screening: The screening committee will review all the submitted document describing their opinion on certain topic. The committee will then select 30 contestants for the next round.
7.2 Specch contest: each presentation of each contestants will be judged by the following criteria:
| Speech development (20%) | Structure, organization, and support materials |
| Effectiveness (15%) | Achievement of purpose, goal, and interest |
| Speech value (20%) | Idea, logic, and original thought |
| Delivery (30%) | Physical: appearance, eye contact, and body language Voice: dynamics, volume projection, and speak naturally. Manner: directness, assurance, and enthusiasm |
| Language (15%) | Appropriateness: to speech, purpose and audience Correctness: grammar, pronunciation and word selection |
7.3 Winner selection: Top 10 best speakers will be selected. They will be asked questions from the panel of judges to show their ability in impromptu speech. The winners will then be judged and announced.
